Advantage is an amazing not-for-profit organisation that has reimagined how mental healthcare support works for young people within their community by facilitating it at their local football clubs.
By bringing the NHS and football clubs together, they are breaking down the stigma of support, enabling them to reach more people in an inspiring and motivating way, affecting real change within the communities they serve.
They work with the NHS and professional football club community organisations to make this happen through weekly sessions for individuals, and it’s been hugely successful. Starting at West Ham, it now includes Chelsea Football Club Foundation, Wolves Foundation, Arsenal Community, Queen’s Park Rangers Trust, Aston Villa Foundation, and many more.
It’s ideal for people who feel less comfortable or motivated in an official healthcare setting, with a focus on younger people aged 14-21. It reduces waiting times and health inequalities and provides a clearer understanding of young people’s needs.
Styles+Partners partnered with them to design a new visual identity, creating a new symbol that reflects their dynamic and visionary approach inspired by the tactical formation of a triangle, which is adopted within the beautiful game to enable players to keep possession and organise play, so they work most effectively together.
Advantage, the NHS, and the Football clubs come together to form a triangle of dynamic support in the symbol, whilst the wider identity graphics and colours reflects the youthful, vibrant communities they serve, and the active sports influence at the centre of what they do.
